I see the looks from folks in their automobiles estimating me when my kids and I drive by in our minivan. The TV at the back is on and my children are immersed in their kid-friendly pills. One has got the Kindle for both kids and one other, who is elderly, uses my husband's older variant iPad. They have cans on which are synced with the television. So I do it. From the surface, it seems like I'm a dreadful parent that's stuffing screens before my children to keep them quiet in the vehicle. And in a way that's correct, but there's a good deal more to it than that.
What you don't see is that I am homeschooling my childrenso when it appears as they have been rotting their brains screens in the car they are actually learning. As I am driving them to activities, sports, clubs, and play dates they are about their pills reading and working on course. The television is on, however it's streaming a lesson from Khan Academy on great composers so that they're playing music while they are doing assignments. So as the outside world is judging me for giving my children screen time they're totally immersed in learning, not in poor quality entertainment.
Give Courses
And exactly why not I give them lessons to do while they are in the vehicle? Many days with traffic normally it takes me two hours to get the elderly one to her football lesson. That is only two full hours of captive learning simply because they have to be in the car anyway. And that usually means that in the future, they could spend two hours out playing with their friends rather than sitting in front of the screen at home because they already have their lessons done. If we will become trapped in traffic I would rather ask them to participated and busy doing work in the car where they can't really do much of anything else anyway. That's just smart organization and making the most of our time. Plus it teaches them to take advantage of the own time and apply enough opportunity and energy to their benefit.
Therefore spare me as well as other parents that the judgmental discusses stop signs and stoplights once you check out and watch that our children with their heads over screens and earphones on. You don't know what they are looking at or what they are working on. There is way too much ruling in parenting circles nowadays and insufficient openness to research different ways to complete things. Parenting isn't something that works according to one group of rules. We all need to locate ways to do what is best for our kids and that which fits in to our lives. And if you are willing to speak with parents who do things differently out of you then you might even pick up some ideas and advice to get new methods to do things yourself which may make your work as a parent easier.
